Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology can be used to control vehicle access to a site, either to allow authorised vehicles to enter or to monitor the number of times a specific vehicle enters a site or sites in a given period.

One of the key applications is the management of waste and recycling facilities where the ability to identify regular (trade) visitors from occasional (domestic) users has significant revenue implications. Our smart ANPR camera solutions can be used both to raise barriers when authorised vehicles approach and to populate a database which can be used to identify vehicles which make regular visits to the site.

Another key access control market is car park management. “Pay and display” car data can only tell you how many half hour or one hour tickets were sold. ANPR allows car park managers access to a full range of statistics and reports, including actual parking times and average length of stay, to gain a better understanding of the vehicle flow, allowing resources to be managed more effectively. ANPR data can also be a very useful tool in managing fraud within the car park system.
