False alarms have been the major problem for the security industry for many years. Under Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) guidelines the Police want an independent verification of an alarm notification before attending an incident.

Alarm Receiving Centres often have a false alarm rate in excess of 95% of the calls received so the ability to reduce the false alarms can have a major effect on the efficiency of a centre.
