Established in 2003 Smart CCTV Ltd is a value added reseller and systems integrator, specialising in the newly emerging market of video analytics. Our aim is to use this technology to improve people’s lives by making them safer, reducing crime and anti-social behaviour. Historically CCTV has been seen as an intrusive technology watching people going about their daily lives, Video Analytics ensures that unless someone is acting a predetermined “threat” manner the fact that they are in the view of a camera is never available to a human operator.

Smart CCTV promotes the use of cost-effective technology that moves that embeds a large part of the algorithm into smart cameras.  This frees up network bandwidth and allows a central server to co-ordinate many cameras and to provide the system command and control. This new technology can be implemented in traditional applications such as open space/town centre CCTV, automatic number-plate reading (ANPR), traffic surveys and highways management, and retailer visitor behaviour analysis.

Our solutions have been used to identify people and vehicles behaving unusually at a variety of premises including an international embassy, where security is paramount, private residences, university simulator systems to analyse stress in students, very high resolution webcams for an outdoor theatre, car parks, police stations and council-monitored sites. 

Smart CCTV improves the ratio of results to investment and therefore improves the effectiveness of a CCTV operation. While the operator is watching one screen, our equipment can be monitoring other areas, giving an alarm when something untoward is spotted, unlike a human the computer never gets bored or distracted from the specific task of providing safety and security.

Working in partnership with prime video analytic software authors such as Cernium and Honeywell, we use our expertise in vision to integrate our products into new or existing system, adding the value of intelligent video analytics to the installation.
