Traffic Counting

Smart CCTV has deployed video-based traffic counting solutions on a wide range of road types. Video as an “above ground” technology is easy to deploy and it can be combined with other sensor modalities, for example Radar, to provide cost-effective solutions.

We are able to deliver both temporary solutions for traffic survey purposes which have their own power supplies, and fixed installations for mounting on both roadside poles and motorway gantries.

We use smart camera technology to automatically enumerate the video, which can be on a lane by lane basis, and we are able to classify the traffic into four classes of vehicles based on their size.
