Vehicle incident detection video offers a good solution for the management of the road networks, it is an “above ground technology” so the installation and maintenance of equipment doesn’t require the road surface to be disturbed with all of the issues of congestion caused by closing one or more lanes.

Control room staff - whether employed by the Highways Agency, the Managing Agent Contractor or Local Government have many tasks to undertake and with the way that human perception works may not notice incidents on the road network which are only displayed on a video wall.

Smart camera solutions are normally the most cost-effective solution where there is little or no existing data transmission bandwidth. We are able to send alerts and video clips to give the control room staff situational awareness over wireless and mobile telephony links.

Solutions which are installed in the control room are an excellent way of gaining more utility from existing investment as long as the video feeds are brought back to the central point.
